EPAC'S Youth / Parent Summit

YOUTH PARENT SUMMIT IS A YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM bought to you by EPAC! More than 200 kids participate each year at Carver Rec. This year's event starts on Friday night at Carver Rec with a free movie called WOODLAWN - the life of Tony Nathan - beginning at 6:00 p.m. (to the first 120 people). Mr. Nathan will be keynote speaker for Saturday's event.
andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;The Eastside Positive Action Committee, Inc. (EPAC, Inc.) is a 501 C-3 non-corporation that was organized to assist and aid the City of Bartow in providing a better quality of life for the citizens of Bartow. Our goals are to improve economic and housing conditions, to help reduce crime, to implement Youth and Adult Developmental Programs and to work with the City and other community partners to develop programs for the long-term development of East Bartow.
andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;The Citizens of East Bartow have, for a number of years, been concerned about the direction of our youth within the community. There have been numerous ideas brought forward to address these concerns such as: providing Mentoring Programs, Youth/Parent Programs, more affordable Recreational andamp; Athletic Programs, and Technology andamp; Life Skill Programs. In our efforts to be a part of the city and community of Bartow in addressing some of the needs and concerns of our community, this Youth/Parent Summit has evolved. andnbsp; andnbsp;
andnbsp; andnbsp; andnbsp;We hope that todayandrsquo;s Summit will enlighten parents, youth and the entire community on issues that may impact everyone on what it takes to be productive in a challenging and ever-changing society filled with lifeandrsquo;s uncertainties.
