Girls Incorporated of Lakeland provides after school and summer programs for girls in grades K-12. Research-based curricula, delivered by trained, mentoring professionals in a positive all-girl environment equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate media messages; and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math.
MISSION STATEMENT. Girls Incorporated of Lakeland's mission is to inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold.
OBJECTIVES. Our objectives are to provide life-changing programs and experiences that help girls navigate gender, economic, and social barriers.
ACTIVITIES. Girls Inc develops research-based informal education programs that encourage girls to take risks and master physical, intellectual and emotional challenges. Major programs address math and science education, pregnancy and drug abuse prevention, media literacy, economic literacy, adolescent health, violence prevention, and sports participation.
